In our last API Pup blog post, we left off asking ourselves, “What does the merchant need?” And as we pointed out, that truly is the million-dollar question.
With so much noise in the FinTech space these days, it’s hard to tell the difference between genuine need and hopeful wanting. An endless number of companies are entering the space with the “next big thing” while the rest are grasping at straws trying to adjust quickly. But to what end? Well, the 12-million merchants in the U.S. spend billions on processing every year. ‘Nuff said.
But in the wings, there were ISOs. Quietly plotting and planning. We see the data. We know the customer base. We’ve got a beat on what the needs are because we talk to the end users. This is the advantage on the competition that FinTech startups don’t have. We’ve listened to the feedback and found solutions. We’ve been doing this for years.
This year will be transformative for Payscape not from what we will do, but from what we’ve done in the past. We’ve taken the last few years and done some research. We’ve talked to our customers and our clients’ customers. We’ve researched the competition and made some acquisitions. We’ve pushed our processing networks to go further with their technology, and then built on top of that to make it better. Simply put...we’ve adapted. And we’re continuing to do so.
